We had some very sad news last week. My grandmother, Mimi, passed away on Wednesday morning. This is a very sad time for us. Mimi was a strong presence in all of our lives. As kids, and even as adults, she was always trying to make us laugh or get us into trouble. Mimi never missed a swim meet, soccer, baseball or basketball game and was always the loudest one cheering on the sidelines. I hope that I can be that kind of grandmother and we're so glad that Jack got to meet her and know her even though we wish it could have been for longer.
We went down to Tennessee for the funeral. It was a quick and cold trip. Jack seemed to think that the funeral was a party held in his honor but that would have been okay with Mimi. They played Rocky Top at the graveside which made us all laugh and cry and would have made Mimi happy.
We love you, Mimi, and we miss you already!
